Driscoll to Michigan
September 29th, 2009
After averaging 19 points and 17 rebounds and leading her Archbishop Williams team to the Eastern Mass Finals, Val Driscoll recently verbally committed to University of Michigan.
Playing extremely well at Jr Nationals last summer, Val’s recruitment increased significantly both on a regional and national level. UMaine and Sacred Heart were among the other possible suitors locally.
In need of inside post player, Michigan is graduating their 6’6 starting center, they liked Val’s ability to play with her back to the basket, her tremendous work ethic, ability to play in space and how adept she was at rebounding the basketball, all skills she showed at Hoop Mountain Division I summer camp and throughout the summer AAU season, Michigan felt she would be a great fit and could handle the rigors of Big Ten basketball. Val did two unofficial visits in March and this summer before committing on August 11th.
