Gonsalves commits to Adelphi

Massachusetts standout commits to NY school
Brenna Gonsalves, a senior at Coyle Cassidy HS in Massachusetts, recently signed her letter of intent to attend Adelphi University. Gonsalves an athletic hard working player went over the 1,000 point plateau in last year. She averages 22 points and 8 rebounds per games while adding 51 blocks and 56 steals on the season.
According to Taunton Daily Gazette, "Adelphi was everything I was looking for," Gonsalves said of the Long Island, N.Y. school. "The campus is beautiful, coach (Heather) Jacobs and the entire coaching staff is very nice. It’s also the same style of basketball I want to play. It’s exactly how we play now. It’s perfect. I could not ask for anything more."
In three years at C-C, Gonsalves has led the Warriors to two league titles and averaged 16.5 points in 67 varsity games. She currently holds the all-time single-season record in points (486) and has scored 30 points or more in a game on four different occasions. Gonsalves, a team captain has her sights set on improving Coyle’s 19-4 record and state semifinal finish before taking her exploits to Adelphi.
