New Haven gets two for their class of 2014
The University of New Haven women's basketball program recently received a commitment from Anh-Dao Tran of Webster, Mass and Holy Name Central High School and plays AAU basketball for the South Central Mass Sharks. Tran is a five-foot-six guard who is dynamic on both ends of the floor
According to New Haven’s website, Head Coach Jessica Smith said, "Anh-Dao is a dynamite point guard with scoring ability. We are excited about her ability to lead and direct her team as well as take over the game when necessary. She is going to add to the depth of our back court and is ready to make an impact."
At Holy Name Central, she has been a conference all-star since her rookie season and was a Division I Telegram and Gazette Super-Team All-Star her sophomore and junior year. In 2008, Tran was voted as the Top Central Mass Girls' Basketball Player. She was an all-star in the Acton Boxboro Tournament as a sophomore and the Westboro Invitational Tournament as a junior. In 2007, she led her high school team to be the Division I Champions. Tran is a member of the National Honor Society and has been an honor roll student every year.
In addition to Tran, New Haven also added Ayana Duncanson a six foot forward from Elmont NY
