New England Recruiting Report
Experience is a common theme among powers in D3 & D4
D3
Stoneham – Many of the pieces of the puzzle return including senior shooter Cassie Liston. 5-11 Vanessa Bramante gives them a low post presence and juniors Arianna Tuccelli and Sicuso are ready to step into bigger roles this season. Forward Marissa Cataldo has transferred back to give them another tremendous defender and potential scorer.
Archbishop Williams – Michigan bound Val Driscoll is surround by talented seniors who are fresh off another Garden experience. Their sophomore class is tremendous. Mari Barry will start at the point, Michaela Flanagan and Aiden Duquette can really shoot it and add instant offense. Kayla Papazian will give them depth inside. In addition 5-9 freshmen Sara Ryan should also be a contributor. If all things fall correctly and they play as well at the end of the year as they did last year, we may very well see this team repeat last year’s performance.
Pentucket – Solid senior laden guard play has allowed this team to get off to their fast start. Point guard Erin McNamara and guard/forward Ashley Viselli are both talented and heady players. The Sachems have a ton of experience and went 21-3 last year but will need to solve their front court questions to compete against some of the other powers in D3.
St Mary’s of Lynn - This team is loaded with talented tough hard-nosed players. 6-2 Tori Faieta play is infectious. She is able to control the inside with her physicality and relentless play. 5-10 Cassie Amenta and Erin Fahey give the Spartans a sizable front court. Bria Tiro is a dynamic guard. Kristen Ferrari will handle the point guard responsibilities.
Coyle Cassidy – Junior Brenna Gonsalves is a tremendous scorer and has a number of young sophomores who can play including 5-11 Tricia Quinn who started as a freshmen last year. Also expected to contribute is sophomores Andeya DeSousa, Delany Adams and Missy Perry.
Sabis 5-7 Alexis Chappell recently surpassed 1,000 pts and makes this team go. Sisters Jazmine is a solid scorer in her own right and Jaimee Collins a tough hard-nosed defender that brings a ton of intangibles
Ware – Justine King leads a team that reached the sectional semifinals last year. She averaged over 18ppg last year and has a number of newcomers that should help their cause.
D4
Cohasset – Won the state championship two years and finished 22-2 last year. This experience should translate into another deep tournament run. 6-1 St Anselm bound Tori Lehr has tremendous length and athleticism. 5-8 Meredith Kelly can score by attacking the rim or from the outside and 5-11 Samantha Crough is a solid defender and give them a third scorer. Junior Lindsay Davis and sophomore Anna Seraikas should round out the starting five.
Hull – point guard Ashleigh Condon is crafty creator who can get to the rim and shoot the 3. Sisters Julie and Katy Manning man the inside. Hull should certainly be in the thick of things again this season.
New Mission - Two headed monster Mieshia Reynolds and Niesha Kelley are going to be tough to stop. Chreese Hall is solid forward . This team brings incredible athleticism and speed and should be favorite in the North.
Manchester Essex – Lizzy Ball is a gifted guard who flat out defend but not sure they will have enough weapons to compete with New Mission in the north.
Millis - 6-0 Molly Breen recently scored her 1,000 and returns from their state championship team.
