New England Recruiting Report

Still in process but Wheaton class already looks strong

Although we are certain Coach Melissa Hodgdon is still attempting to finalize her recruiting class, she has received several committments from some solid prospects. Wheaton is currently in second place at 8-3 in the NEWMAC Conference.  

• Laura Pierce, point guard Pinkerton Academy NH - a tremendous ball handler, floor leader and scorer

• Dana Zahoruiko, wing,  Amesbury HS, Amesbury MA - has the ability to go inside or out, good scorer but does all the intangibles with a high basketball IQ

• Sarah Fitzgerald, wing Morse HS, Morse ME - versatile player who is a good rebounder, has good anticipation on the perimeter with ability to force turnovers and can score in a number of ways.

• Lauren McCelland, post,  Notre Dame of Hingham, MA - athletic post who plays well in space, finishes and runs the floor very well.

• Vanessa Campbell,  wing, New Hampton Prep, NH - solid instinctual player who can really shoot it

• Kara Carmen, guard, Albany Academy NY - combo guard, strong, shooter and solid defensive player.
