Hoop Mountain Fall Showcase - Class of 2011

The class of 2011 was tremendously talented at the Hoop Mountain Fall Showcase

 

The Hoop Mountain Fall Exposure event at Boston University this past Sunday had nearly 100 on-looking college coaches as 120 of New England’s most talented prospects showcased their talent.

 

Here is a look of those who impressed from the Class of 2011

Katie Cullerot, John Stark (NH) - very good shooting touch especially off the dribble, clearly understands the game, used screens to not only set up teammates but to create her own offense. Equally adept at getting to the rim going left or right. She also played strong positional defense and got after the ball.

Catherine Mathews, Barrington (RI) - slasher who was able to drive it left or right and finished strong. Effective outside shooter. She stepped into the passing lanes on many occasions an anticipated to deflect or create offense.

Julie Frankian 5’8, Millbury (MA) - showed strong pull up jumper from 15+ feet, also drove it hard to basket, strong handle, finished on the break and has quick hands

Courtney Anderson, 5’5,  Leavitt (ME) - very quick, solid slasher and creator with a good handle, fought through screens and strong on ball defender
 
Johnna Fisher 6’3, Winthrop (MA) - did a great job fighting for position and made strong post moves to both the baseline and middle using either hand to finish. Crashed the boards hard and changed peoples shots.

Britni Mikulanecz 5’8, Deering (MA) - slasher who went strong to the goal with either hand, ran the floor and moved without the ball well, solid on ball, good help defender, and did a great job boxing out from guard position

Deryn Zahoruiko, Amesbury (MA)-  very good handle with solid first step, creates and moves well without the ball, crashes the offensive boards hard,  great team player and plays good help position.

Alyssa Roach 5’9, New Bedford (MA) - attacked the basket very strong and showed good footwork on both ends of the floor. Read screens and moves well to get open. good scorer.

Mariah Lesure  6’0, Amherst (MA) - strong post with good moves to the basket, athletic with a solid motor and can change shots. showed range to 15 feet.

Cheyenne Jennings 5’4,  Wachusett (MA) - keeps the ball low to the ground, solid creator, quick hands, scrappy, extremely active all over the floor.

Tori Faieta 6’2, St Mary’s (MA) - displayed strong moves to the basket, good court presence, moved well with and without the ball, finished strong with both hands, extremely adept offensive rebounder, quick release and played good post defense and away from the basket. overall strong rebounder.


Other players who look good

Lizzy Ball 5’7, Manchester-Essex - nice shot and set up from inside 15 feet, good passer with nice dribble moves, and solid help side position.

Taylor Flood 5’8, Sanford (ME) – great motor who hustled hard on every play, solid ball handler who can create.
 
Jaci Oskam 6’0, Bethlehem Central (NY) – athletic/wing post, who gets up and down the floor quickly, gets tremendous position and is able to finish effectively.

Nyah Berg 5’6, Lincoln-Sudbury (MA) – athletic wing who was great in transition, showed ability to score in a variety of ways

Jasmine Theroux  5’8, Trinity (NH) – played tenaciously on both ends of the floor, was able to finish and shoot the mid range jumper.

Ella Scheuerell 5’9, Newton North (MA) – long wing who shot effectively from the mid range and out to three and showed an ability to put the ball on the floor and create for others.

Lindsey Jones 5’9, Lincoln-Sudbury (MA) – followed up her strong performance from last week with a solid effort. She impacted the game defensively with her pressure, got out in front of the pack in transition and finished . 

Danielle Perkins 5’8, Woburn (MA) – quick first step and was able to get to the rim and finish in traffic. Showed good quickness and court presence.

Danielle Walczak  6’1 Oyster River (NH) – showed off her ability to work in the interior, got good position and played well in space to get put backs.

Briana Hunt 5’9, Newton North (MA) – wreaked havoc on the ball defensively and was able to get to the rim effectively and finish often.

Amy Pelletier  5’6 Bishop Fenwick (MA) – displayed solid abilities to push in transition as well as run a team in the half court. Very good defensively.
