Hoop Mountain Spring Classic - Event Recap

The Hoop Mountain Spring Classic featured over 100 college prospects and close to 75 onlooking college coaches.

 

While a fair share of big names were able to solidify there play in front of the throngs on coaches on Sunday, a number of young prospects were able to show their abilites. Please find the freshman and sophomore class top perfomers below; (Juniors and Seniors will be recapped in the tomorrow)

 

Class of 2012

Sam Brenner, New Hampton  - long and active post and does a nice job finishing

Audrey Knowlton, Gloucester   - played extremely hard, solid on offensive glass and got to the rim consistently on drive from wing

Katie Murray, Wachusett  - solid shooter with range and great size for 3 man

Niki Laskaris, Swampscott  - aggressive rebounder who can really shoot it

Keri Doldoorian, Northbridge  - combo guard who moved well without the ball, is a good passer and can fill it from the outside

Sarah Palazola , Danvers - did a nice job attacking and pulling up while consistently knocking down jump shots
 
Ashley Clough, Keene  - excellent shooter with incredible range and good rebounder

Ceara McNamara, Souhegan  - finished very well especially in traffic and against pressure

Brooke Stewart, Masconomet  - good all around player who got to the rim consistently and finished strong

Makenzie Burud, Red Hook Cntrl - showed good all around understanding of the game, worked really hard and had good handle

Alex Cohen, Bishop Guertin - good shooter with deep range

Casey Smith, Danbury - great size, ran the floor well, got good strong position and fought for it inside. moved her feet very well on defensive end and is a finisher

Ali Wells, Essex - moved very well without the ball, showed her basketball IQ with solid help defense and rotations

Megan Gaudreau, Pomfret - good shooter with deep range

Maggie Brown, Wilmington - physical player who mixed it up inside finished over several defenders

Riley Wurtz, Newtown - point guard who saw the floor very well, extremely good passer and communicator. moved well off the ball to get open. Good all around defender

Amanda Shaver, Austin Prep - moved very well off the ball to get open, goes and gets boards, strong physically and worked for everything

Lauren Hebert, North Reading - quick point guard who has size and went to strong the rim, looked to push, used her ball fakes well, & very effective running her team

Blake Underhill, Asland - slasher who is found openings and attacked them

Jane White, Souhegan - great defender who distributes the ball very well. sees the floor exceptionally.

Kerry White, Salem - solid post player who fought for position and demands basket.  Good moves inside to finish

Liza Otto, Glastonbury - solid shooter particularly from three point land

Lizzy Ball, Mancheser Essex - (redclaring as a junior) tenancious defender, solid passer and can score in a variety of ways

Haili Welton, Pomperaug - tremendous shooter, good passer with quick hands on the defensive end

Erica McGreevey, Taunton - very athletic player who elevated on her jumper with nice shooting touch

Meghan Gribbin,  Windham - very good 3 pt shooter

 

Class of 2013

Gina Resitano, Revere - solid ball handler, got to the rim in transition

Maggie Salomone, Narrangset - was a lways looking to attack, very quick in transition, has range from 3 and solid first step to the rim

Thalia Garcia, Brooks - good defender and showed a mid range game

Morgan Lumb, No. Andover - great court vision, crafty, solid first step and good finishing ability

Shelby Quinnette, Medfield - played extremely hard and was to affect the game on both ends with her hustle

Nicole Viselli, Pentucket - showed an impressive mid range game, tenacious on the defensive end and played good team basketball

Amanda Petrow, Meuthen - displayed great hustle, hard to the goal, & worked very hard on the defensive end

Meaghan Dioron, Gardner  - showed in array of post moves

Natalie Leone, Ashland  - solid rebounder in traffic, played very well out of triple threat - stayed low on drive, good shooter with range

Sarah Merchant, Algonquin  - tough interior presence who played hard all day, solid boxes outs and rebounds and shot it with range

Liz Maglione, Essex - went strong to goal with either hand and was able to finish consistently

Ara  Talkov, Swampscott - long wing who showed off her ability to shoot it or drive in traffic

Jill Sauvageau, Gardner - solid 3 pt shooter

Kari Lavalette, Essex - solid shooter with deep range and good scoring ability
